This Week at the Plovdiv Aerobic Cup: A Preview of World-Class Competition

This week at the Plovdiv Aerobic Cup, we will witness some of the most talented athletes in the world of aerobic gymnastics, including medalists from the Cantanhede and Yokohama World Cups, competing in individual events. Clara Lestruhaut, who secured a bronze medal in Cantanhede, and Maelys Lencos, who also took home bronze in Yokohama, are among the top contenders.

Maelys Lencos, the 2023 European Champion, is looking to test her routine ahead of the World Championships. In the 2022 World Championships, she narrowly missed the podium, finishing in fourth place. Her experience and determination make her a strong contender as she aims to refine her performance before the big event in Italy next month.

Clara Lestruhaut, known for her consistency in various past events, is also positioning herself as a potential finalist for the upcoming World Championships. Both Maelys and Clara have a real shot at making it to the finals, but under the current FIG rules, only one athlete per country can advance to the final round.

This week’s competition in Plovdiv may offer a glimpse into what we can expect at Pesaro 2024. Stay tuned for what promises to be a thrilling display of athleticism and skill!
