The International Gymnastics Federation (FIG) Executive Committee has released official news regarding the allocation of late applications for World Cups and World Challenge Cups in the international calendar.

Among the updates is the possible inclusion of a new Aerobic World Cup stage in Oradea, Romania, scheduled for 31 July – 2 August 2026. However, the event currently holds the status “to be ratified by the Council,” meaning it still awaits final approval from the FIG Council.

If confirmed, the competition would become an important preparation event for athletes ahead of the World Championships, which will take place in Pamplona, Spain in September. It could also represent the final World Cup opportunity before the global showdown, giving gymnasts one last chance to test routines, gain competitive rhythm, and collect valuable ranking points. 🏆✨

Two familiar names from the Cantanhede FIG Aerobic Gymnastics World Cup 2024 will represent Egypt again this year: Basel Elzamek and Omar Elmranghy. Both athletes were part of the 2024 delegation that impressed the audience with strong technical quality and well-structured routines, developed under the supervision of Hungarian coach Éva Szloboda.

Their return to Cantanhede signals continuity in the Egyptian program, maintaining athletes who already have experience competing on the Portuguese stage.

Leading this group is Clara Lestruhaut, who emerges as the main name of the French team in Cantanhede and a key figure guiding several athletes making their senior debut this season.

The legendary Suzuki World Cup @japanaerobicfederation will hold its final edition this April, closing a remarkable journey that began in 1990 and became a cornerstone of the international aerobic gymnastics calendar. 🌍🤸‍♀️

Supported throughout its history by Suzuki Motor Corporation, the competition welcomed athletes from around the world and played a key role in the global growth of the discipline.

The event experienced a brief pause during the global crisis caused by COVID-19, but its impact on the sport remained undeniable.

Since 2015, MeloGym has been present at several editions, documenting unforgettable routines, historic podiums, and the evolution of aerobic gymnastics on the world stage. 📸✨
